Solenoid valve SL, for Lock-up
Solenoid valve SL, for Lock-up |
Solenoid valve SL is located in the valve housing which is mounted on the gearcase. This solenoid controls the torque converter's Lock-up clutch. When it is activated, power is transmitted mechanically through the torque converter.
The solenoid is grounded via its casing directly to the gearcase and is connected to control module pin 19, which activates it by supplying it with B+. A solenoid not supplied with current is open.
The control module activates the Lock-up function in 3rd and 4th gear according to the accelerator position and the speed of the car.
The Lock-up function is disengaged if:
• |
The transmission fluid temperature is below 0°C.
|
• |
The transmission fluid temperature is above 150°C.
|
The nominal winding resistance in the solenoid is 13 ohms.
