Raise the car and remove the wheels.

Press the brake pistons back, using a pair of slip-joint pliers.
|

| 3. |
Remove the pins and collect the retaining spring.
|
|
| 4. |
Remove the brake pads using the special tool, part No. 89 95 771, if they are obstinate.
|
|
| 5. |
Clean the surfaces where the brake pads touch the brake caliper. Use a soft metal brush. Check the condition of the dust caps.

| 1. |
Apply copper grease to the sliding surfaces of the brake pads.
|
|
| 2. |
Fit the new brake pads in the brake caliper.
|
|
| 3. |
Fit the retaining spring and the pins.
|

Tightening torques aluminium wheel 110 Nm (81 lbf ft) steel wheel 50 Nm +2x90°, max. 110 Nm (37 lbf ft +2x90°, max. 81 lbf ft) |

Lower the car to the floor and depress the brake pedal to force out the brake pistons.
|

| 6. |
Adjust the brake fluid level.
