Release the handbrake.

Raise the car.

3. |
Separate the front and rear exhaust pipe sections.
|
4. |
Remove the left-hand rubber exhaust-pipe suspension block.

5. |
Undo the heat shield's two rear retaining nuts on the left-hand side.

6. |
Bend the heat shield downwards by a sufficient amount to gain access to the cable equalizer.
|
7. |
Remove the return springs and unhook the cables from the actuating levers.
|
8. |
Turn the handbrake cable through 90° and separate the cable equalizer.
|
9. |
Pull the cable out of the front cable holder and lift out the cable.
|
10. |
Support the fuel tank with a single-pillar jack.
|
11. |
Undo the tank straps at the front and withdraw the cable.

To fit |
1. |
Correctly position the cables under the tank and tighten the tank straps.
|
2. |
Insert the handbrake cable into the cable equalizer and turn it through 90°.
|
3. |
Lift the cable into the front and rear holders.
|
4. |
Hook the cables in place and fit the return springs.
|
5. |
Press the heat shield up into place and secure it.
|
6. |
Fit the exhaust pipe's rubber suspension block.
|
7. |
Fit the front and rear exhaust pipe sections together.
