Switch, TCS ON/OFF

Switch, TCS ON/OFF

The TCS function can be turned ON/OFF by means of a spring-loaded switch on the dashboard to the right of the steering wheel. Turning the TCS function off causes the TCS OFF lamp on the main instrument unit to light up.

This switch is connected to pin 31 of the TC/ABS control module and to grounding point G42S. The TC/ABS control module applies B+ to pin 31. Pressing the button in connects the circuit to ground and the TCS function is enabled or disabled, depending on the position of the switch.

The switch can be used to turn off the TCS function at speeds below 60 km/h or to turn it on at any desired speed. The TCS function is always engaged when the ignition switch is turned to ON.

Diagnostics

If the button is held depressed (or the lead is grounded) for more than 10 seconds, the TC/ABS control module will engage the TCS function and it cannot afterwards be disengaged without first switching off the ignition and switching it on again. No diagnostic trouble code will be set.
