Brief description |
Windscreen and rear window |
The windscreen and rear window are glued to the body and therefore form part of the load-bearing structure of the body.
The rear window is fitted with electric heating and the audio system antenna.
The electric heating is operated manually with a separate switch on the heater panel, which controls the relay via DICE.
On cars with ACC, the electric heating is operated by the ACC control module via the I bus and DICE, which controls the relay for the electric heating.
Side windows |
The side windows in the doors are fitted with a rail to the electric window lifts.
All the cars in the Saab 9-5 range are fitted with green-tinted heat-absorbing glass.
There is a fixed window pane screwed into the rear door frames.
Window lifts |
Only electric window lifts are available. In the front doors, they are of scissor lift type and in the rear doors of wire type. The electric motors in the front and rear doors are mounted on the window lifts.
The switch unit is located in the centre console between the front seats, from which all the windows can be operated.
Door mirrors |
The door mirrors are electrically controlled and are operated with a switch in the driver's door.
They have electrical heating which is operated with the switch for the heated rear window.
On cars with ACC, the electric heating is operated by the ACC control module via the I bus and DICE, which controls the relay for the electric heating.
Door mirrors with memory (PMM) |
The Power Mirror Memory (PMM) function is available as an option.
Different positions are stored and activated via the seat memory function. The mirror on the passenger door can also be tilted downwards while reversing by putting the selector lever in the R position and pressing an extra button on the mirror switch unit.
Interior rear-view mirror |
The interior rear-view mirror is fitted to the roof in the front roof console. It has an anti-dazzle position, which is operated with a button on the bottom of the mirror.
