Drain the refrigerant from the A/C system, see
.

Detach the A/C pipes from the expansion valve, 1 bolt in centre of valve.
Plug the openings and move the pipes to one side. |
3. |
Remove the expansion valve, 2 countersunk hexagonal socket screws.

Be careful not to contaminate the new expansion valve. |

Lubricate the O-rings with synthetic vaseline. Fit the O-rings on the pipes leading from the evaporator.

2. |
Press the expansion valve onto the A/C pipes and tighten.
Tightening torque: 5 Nm (3.7 lbf ft) |
3. |
Remove the plugs and lubricate the O-rings on the pipes from the compressor and condenser respectively.

4. |
Press on the A/C pipes to the expansion valve.
|
5. |
Locate the pipe holder (washer) against the valve and tighten.
Tightening torque: 8 Nm (5.9 lbf ft) |

Vacuum pump the A/C system and fill with R134a refrigerant, see
