Adjustment of heater supply, rear floor
Saab 9-5 M98 up to and including chassis number W3060753
In the event of customers complaining about poor heating at floor level, this can be remedied by adjusting the rear temperature valve.
Rectified in production as of chassis number W3060754.
1.
Before carrying out adjustment, set the temperature valve for maximum cold as follows.
Start the engine.
On cars with ACC: Select LO-LO on the ACC panel.
On cars with MCC: Turn the left and right temperature knobs to the maximum cold position.
Run the engine for 15 seconds before switching off the ignition. This is to give the temperature valve time to reach its end position.
2.
Detach and fold aside the side trim on the passenger's side of the centre console.
3.
Undo the three screws on the protective cap over the lower valve mechanism.
4.
Open the plastic clip on the strut between the upper and lower temperature valves.
5.
Detach the strut from the link arm clip.
6.
Adjust the link arm 2.0 mm downwards. Use a feeler gauge, as this dimension is of crucial importance. Excessive adjustment will result in too much heat at floor level.
Note
It is important that the 2.0 mm dimension is measured as shown in the illustration. A different measuring point will result in the wrong relationship between front and rear floor temperatures.
7.
Fit the protective cap.
8.
Fit the side trim on the passenger side.
