Calibrating
The stepping motors do not require a feedback connection to the control module (position sensor). By sending a known number of pulses, the control module knows exactly how far a flap has moved. This is possible on condition that the control module has calibrated itself by turning the flap to its respective end positions so that it knows the position of the flaps. Calibration takes approximately 30 seconds and is performed by starting the engine and pressing the button for electrically heated rear window for more than 5 seconds. The LED for the heated rear window flashes during calibration on the condition that the electrically heated rear window was off when calibration was activated. Calibration must be performed if a stepping motor has been replaced or its position has been changed.
Any stored diagnostic trouble codes are also deleted when calibration is performed.
If the battery has been disconnected/discharged or the MCC unit removed or replaced, calibration will be performed automatically when the ignition is turned on.
