Cars in stock must be rectified before delivery.
Owners of cars already delivered must be informed of the fault by a personal communication requesting them to contact their nearest Saab garage as soon as possible for the necessary repairs.

The wiring harness for the buckles on front-seat seat belts may be damaged. The seat frame could crush the cables when the seat is in its lowest position. As a result, the seat-belt warning will no longer work satisfactorily.

Before taking any steps, check whether the wiring is secured with cable ties to the seat cowl. If it is, the seat has already been updated.
Fit a cable tie to keep the cables in place beside the inner seat cowl. This must be done on
both
front seats if they are equipped with
electric adjustment
.

Raise the seat to its highest position.
|
|
2.
|
Inspect the wiring harness for damage.
|
|
|

If the wiring harness is OK, continue with point 11.
|
Note
|

If the sheathing is damaged and it is difficult to see whether the cables have also been damaged, cut the sheathing lengthwise about 2 cm to check the cables. If they are undamaged, wrap tape round the sheathing and fix it as described in the instructions.

If the wiring harness is damaged the seat-belt buckle must be changed. Continue with point 3.
|

Remove the seat from the floor brackets, see WIS: 8. Body/Seats.

Remove the strip at the rear of the seat.
|
|
5.
|
Cut the cable tie and unplug the connector.
|
|
6.
|
Unscrew the seat-belt buckle.
|
|
7.
|
Screw the new seat-belt buckle in place.
Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 lbf ft)
|
|
8.
|
Plug in the connector and fit the cable ties.
|
|
9.
|
Fit the strip at the rear of the seat.
|
|
10.
|
Fit the seat, see WIS: 8. Body/Seats.
Tightening torque: 24 Nm (18 lbf ft)
|
|
11.
|
Drill a hole in the seat cowl, using a 6 mm drill bit, as shown in the illustration.
|
|
12.
|
Secure the cables with the cable tie. Make sure that as little as possible of the cable tie can be seen.
|
|
13.
|
Check that the cable is unobstructed by running the seat down and up a few times.
