Symptom: Parking heater fails to start.
Flame temperature sensor. Open circuit/Short circuit to B+.

Parking heater can be activated with Tech 2.
Parking heater function can be programmed in SID.
Eberspächer diagnostics instrument used for diagnosis.
Diagnostic procedure
1. Check flame temperature sensor

Lower the heater to gain access to the control module.
|
•
|
Remove the parking heater control module.
|
•
|
Take a resistance reading across pins 13 and 14 in female connector B2.
|
•
|
The reading obtained should be less than 3040 ohms.
|
Test results OK?

Inspect the connector for corrosion.
|

|
Change the flame temperature sensor.
|
2. Final check
•
|
Clear the diagnostic trouble codes in all systems.
|
•
|
Activate parking heater (ON).
|
•
|
Perform a functionality check.
|
•
|
Evaluate the functionality check.
|
•
|
Check that the diagnostic trouble code has not recurred.
|
Test results OK?

Fault rectified successfully.
