Cars in stock must be remedied before delivery.
A personal communication must be sent to the owners of cars already delivered requesting them to get in touch with the nearest Saab garage as soon as possible to have the fault rectified.
Saab 9-5 V6 M99 to VIN X3033136 inclusive
On certain cars, the battery is mounted too close to the engine cover. This can effect the throttle body and scuffs marks may appear on the casings and covers.
71 56 409 Clips (x2)
Examine box A5 on the modification identity plate before proceeding. Continue as follows if the box is not marked:
1.
Remove the protective cover from the battery. Disconnect the positive and negative battery cables.
2.
Detach the battery vent hose and undo the battery clamp.
4.
Loosen the battery tray and move it as far to the side, away from the engine, as possible. Tighten the tray in its new position.
5.
Fit 2 clips to the edge of the battery tray closest to the engine. Use a plastic mallet.
6.
Run the gearbox vent hose under the cable duct supports.
7.
Fit the battery. Allow the clips to act as spacers against the engine. Fit the battery clamp. Make sure the edge protection remains on the battery tray.
8.
Connect the positive and negative battery cables.
9.
Attach the battery vent hose.
10.
Make sure the play between the engine cover and the edge of the battery flange is at least 16 mm. Fit the battery cover.
11.
ACC: Calibrate the heating and ventilation unit by starting the car while simultaneously pressing AUTO and OFF. Wait for 2 minutes until the heating and ventilation unit display shows the temperature instead of 0. Turn off the engine.
12.
Set the clock and SID.
Marking the modification identity plate
On completion of the necessary rectification, box A5 on the modification identity plate must be marked. If the work was carried out by the importer, mark the box with a “7”. If done by a dealer, mark it with an “8”.
