To fit

Warning

Be careful if the car is warm. The coolant is hot and there is a risk of burns from the intake manifold.

1. Lift the radiator into position and fit its brackets to the radiator member.

2. Fit the lower oil pipe from the automatic gearbox. Change the sealing washers before fitting. Grease the washers with vaseline.

Tightening torque 27 Nm (20 lbf ft)

3. Connect the upper hose to the thermostat pipe and the inlet and outlet hoses to the radiator.

4. Fit the upper oil pipe from the automatic gearbox. Change the sealing washers before fitting. Grease the washers with vaseline.

Tightening torque 27 Nm (20 lbf ft)

5. Connect the upper venting hose to the radiator.

6. Fit the radiator fan, see Radiator fan, V6 .

7. Fill with coolant. Do not forget to close the drain plug on the radiator first. Refer to Coolant for mixtures.

8. Vent the cooling system as follows:

Fill the system to the MAX level and close the lid of the expansion tank. Start the engine and run unloaded until warm at varying engine speeds until the radiator fan starts. Open the lid of the expansion tank and top up to the MAX level. Close the expansion tank lid and let the engine run at varying engine speeds until the radiator fan has started three more times. Switch off the engine and top up as necessary to the MAX level.

Note

A/C or ACC must be switched OFF.

9. Raise the car.

10. Check for any leakage.

11. Fit the lower front cover.

12. Lower the car to the floor.
