To remove |
Make sure the tank is not more than 3/4 full. Drain the tank if necessary.

Open the tank hatch and clean around the filler cap before removing it.

Raise the car slightly and remove the rear right wheel.
|
3. |
Remove the wing edging and wing liner.
|
4. |
Raise the car.
|
5. |
Detach the vent device from the fuel filler pipe bracket with a screwdriver.
|
6. |
Unplug the connector.
|
7. |
Cut both cable ties.
|
8. |
Undo the hose clip at the tank and the vent pipe with tool 83 95 261.
|
9. |
Clean up.

Undo the plastic screw securing the pipe
|
11. |
Remove the filler pipe
|
To fit |

Fit a
new
hose to the filler pipe, tighten the hose clip.

2. |
Make sure the filler pipe is clean and not damaged.
|
3. |
Clean the rubber grommet at the filler cap and apply acid-free Vaseline.
|
4. |
Put the filler pipe in place and connect it to the tank.
|
5. |
Fit a new plastic screw and tighten it.
Tightening torque: 1.8 Nm (1.3 lbf ft) |
6. |
Tighten the hose clip at the tank connection.
Tightening torque: 2.0 Nm (1.4 lbf ft) |
7. |
Connect the filler pipe vent hose to the tank.

8. |
Secure the cable to the filler pipe with a cable tie.
|
9. |
Fit the vent device to the filler pipe
|
10. |
Lower the car to a comfortable working height and fit the wind liner.
|
11. |
Fit the wing edging.
|
12. |
Fit the wheel.
Tightening torque: 110 Nm (81 lbf ft) |
13. |
Lower the car to the floor.
|
14. |
Refit the filler cap and close the hatch.
