Preheated oxygen sensor 2, OBD II; after catalytic converter (592Ra)

To remove


1. Detach the oxygen sensor connector from the holder and unplug it.


2. Cut the oxygen sensor cable fastening.

3. Raise the car.

4. Make a note of how the cable is run and remove it.


Important

The cables must not be twisted. Twisted cables exposed to vibration can break.

The oxygen sensor is sensitive to impact and jolting and must be handled with care.


5. Undo the oxygen sensor with a 22 mm dog-leg spanner or similar tool.


To fit



1. Apply Molykote 1000 (part no. 30 20 971) or equivalent to the oxygen sensor threads. Fit the oxygen sensor and tighten it with a 22 mm dog-leg spanner.

Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 lbf ft)

2. Carefully reposition the oxygen sensor cable.

Important

The cables must not be twisted. Twisted cables exposed to vibration can break.

The oxygen sensor is sensitive to impact and jolting and must be handled with care.


Important

Chemicals such as contact spray and grease must not come into contact with the oxygen sensor connectors.


3. Lower the car.

4. Fasten the oxygen sensor cable.

5. Plug in the oxygen sensor connector and attach it to the holder.
