Preheated oxygen sensor 2, OBD II; after catalytic converter (592Ra)

Detach the oxygen sensor connector from the holder and unplug it.
|
2.
|
Cut the oxygen sensor cable fastening.
|
4.
|
Make a note of how the cable is run and remove it.
Important
|
The cables must not be twisted. Twisted cables exposed to vibration can break.
|
The oxygen sensor is sensitive to impact and jolting and must be handled with care.
|
|
|
5.
|
Undo the oxygen sensor with a 22 mm dog-leg spanner or similar tool.
|

Apply Molykote 1000 (part no. 30 20 971) or equivalent to the oxygen sensor threads. Fit the oxygen sensor and tighten it with a 22 mm dog-leg spanner.
Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 lbf ft)

Carefully reposition the oxygen sensor cable.

The oxygen sensor is sensitive to impact and jolting and must be handled with care.

|
Chemicals such as contact spray and grease must not come into contact with the oxygen sensor connectors.
|
|
|
4.
|
Fasten the oxygen sensor cable.
|
5.
|
Plug in the oxygen sensor connector and attach it to the holder.
