The CD changer is optional. The following CD changer connection alternatives are available:
1. |
Standard
, connection via connector at the front of the car. Additional wiring and CD changer required.

2. |
Pre-wired
, the car is fully prepared for installing a CD changer, which means that all the wiring to/from the CD changer is included in the car's wiring harness.

3. |
CD changer
, the car is delivered with the CD changer fitted, wiring harness as for 2.
|
The CD changer is connected to the wiring harness and bus via a 12-pin connector.
The CD changer is activated by:
• |
pressing the CD button on the main unit if the CD player is active;
|
• |
pressing the CD button twice if the audio system is in the RADIO or TAPE mode (Premium/Prestige).
|
Function |
The CD changer is powered separately (+30) from fuse 9 to pin 6 in the CD changer connector.
When the audio system has been activated, the CD changer reads the “wake-up” information from the main unit on pins 5 and 11 on the bus. The CD changer is then activated (switched on).
The sound signal (line outputs) from the CD changer to the main unit is supplied via:

pins 3 and 8 for the left-hand channel;
|
• |
pins 2 and 7 for the right-hand channel.
|
The CD changer functions are controlled by commands from the main unit via the bus.
Information is sent to the bus when the CD changer is active. SID reads the information and shows the status on the display.

Control functions |
The same buttons are used to control the CD changer and the CD player. To select a CD use the preset buttons 1-6 on the main unit.
