Customer satisfaction campaign 10484
Cars in stock must be remedied before delivery.
A personal communication must be sent to the owner of cars already delivered requesting then to get in touch with the nearest Saab garage as soon as possible to have the fault rectified.
All Saab 9-5 up to and including VIN W3078706 M98 and X3001609 M99.
It was possible for the earlier siren model to take a position in which it would not sound. This was possible to detect with the diagnostic tool.
50 39 086 Siren
Before proceeding, check the box A3 on the modification identity plate. Proceed as follows if the box is not marked:
1.
Raise the car and remove the left front wheel.
2.
Remove the front of the wing liner in the front left wheel housing.
Before continuing, the part number of the siren must be checked to whether it has already been replaced. The part number is located on the same side as the connector.
If the siren is marked with part number 50 39 086, the components must be refitted as this procedure has already been carried out. If the siren is marked with a different part number, it must be replaced. Continue with step 3.
3.
Release 1 nut and 1 screw holding the siren.
4.
Unplug the connector and remove the siren.
5.
Plug in the new siren and fit it.
7.
Fit the front left wheel and lower the car.
Marking the modification identity plate
On completion of the repair, box A3 of the modification identity plate must be marked. Mark it with a “7” if the repair was carried out by the importer (main distributor) or with an “8” if done by a dealer.
