Reprogramming tailgate locking logic
|
All Saab 9-5 5D M99 with VIN interval X3041779 - X3070080
The tailgate locks on cars manufactured after the above VIN interval have been given a different logic. The tailgate will now lock 4 minutes after being unlocked or closed, depending on whichever occurred last. In addition, the function that locks the tailgate when starting has been removed.
This Service Information describes how cars manufactured within the above VIN interval are to be reprogrammed.
Tech 2 with software version 31.000 or later
The following information concerning the car must be available before reprogramming the TWICE.

Steering wheel location (LHD or RHD)?

Passenger seat electrically operated?

Body type (in this case 5-door)?

Programming
|
1.
|
Connect and start Tech 2 and turn the ignition key to ON.
|
|
2.
|
Select Diagnostics (F0).
|
|
3.
|
Select model year (1999) and car type (9-5).
|
|
4.
|
Select Body from the system menu.
|
|
5.
|
Select TWICE from the Body list and then Programming from the TWICE menu.
|
|
6.
|
Select Spare parts programming and answer all the questions concerning the car.
|
|
7.
|
Press EXIT twice when " Programming Complete" is displayed.
|
|
8.
|
Turn the car ignition key to OFF and disconnect Tech 2.
