Cars in stock must be remedied before delivery.
A personal communication must be sent to the owners of cars already delivered requesting them to get in touch with the nearest Saab garage as soon as possible to have the fault rectified.
All Saab 9-5 within VIN intervals W3073811-W3079711 (M98) and X3000853-X3001441 (M99) respectively
There have been occasional cases where the wiring harness has come too close to the ABS unit.

Undo the MAXI fuse board from the main fuse box (quick fastener) and unplug the bonnet switch connection.

Remove the main fuse box by undoing the three nuts. Then lift out the main fuse box and put it to one side.

Check the distance between the wiring harness and the ABS bracket in the area marked A in the illustration.
What is the distance?
Less than 5 mm:
The wiring harness must be protected against chafing. Go to step 4.
5 mm or greater:
No further measure needs to be taken. Proceed with steps 6-8.

Adjust the wiring harness so that the thinner harness is above the thicker one and secure them to each other with a cable tie.

Press out the wiring harness towards the structural member and check that the distance between the wiring harness and the ABS bracket is at least 5 mm.

6.
|
Position the main fuse box and tighten the three nuts.
|
7.
|
Plug in the bonnet switch.
|
8.
|
Press on the MAXI fuse board to the main fuse box.
