Poor contact at grounding point G30

Cars affected

Saab 9-5 up to and including VIN W3087635 and X3005081.

Background

Grounding can be unsatisfactory at grounding point G30 due to the insulation being caught in the grounding connector. This can cause electrical disturbances in the left-hand lighting function, left-hand headlamp, light relay, alarm siren, vacuum pump and pressure sensor, radiator fan motor and relay, washer fluid pump and level sensor.

Diagnostic procedure

If disturbance in the electrical system is reported, check grounding point G30, which is located in the engine bay in front of the left-hand wheel housing.
