Maximum permissible torque
Maximum permissible torque |
In order to ensure smoother shifting and minimize wear on the transmission, the TCM continuously sends information “maximum torque”, unit Nm, to the Trionic system on the bus.
Since the transmission is designed to withstand a maximum torque of 310 Nm, the TCM normally sends bus information “maximum torque 310 Nm” but in certain shifting situations, particularly under heavy acceleration, the TCM requests a lower “maximum torque” for the short space of time during which shifting takes place.
The Trionic system uses the information in its mass air flow control circuit for torque limitation.
