WINTER shifting program
WINTER shifting program |
A WINTER shifting program is provided to facilitate starting on a slippery road surface. With the selector lever in position D and the WINTER shifting program activated, the car will start in 3rd gear and then normally shift up to 4th gear.
With the selector lever in position 3 only 3rd gear will be used.
By means of a spring-loaded switch on the selector lever's console it is possible to change between the WINTER and NORMAL shifting programs.
The switch has two connections, one to control module pin 22 and the other to grounding point G41S. The control module supplies B+ to pin 22. When the button is pressed in, the circuit closes to ground and a change between the shifting programs WINTER and NORMAL is achieved.
The TCM sends information on the current mode as bus information WINTER, unit ON/OFF. In connection with bus information “WINTER ON”, the main instrument unit turns on the WINTER indicator lamp.
