O-ring and sealing ring in seal retainer, left-hand

To remove


Removed gearbox


1. Undo the five bolts on the seal retainer and remove the seal retainer. Keep shims, bolts and the seal retainer in a safe place.

2. Press out the bearing race with 87 91 311 Sleeve, driver shaft bearing and Support 87 92 236.

3. Detach the O-ring with a small screwdriver or similar.



To fit


1. Press on the sealing ring to its stop using Fitting drift, drive shaft seals 87 92 657. Use also Support 87 92 236.


2. Lubricate a new O-ring and carefully fit it.


3. Fit the seal retainer and shims with the bolts. Tighten alternately.


Tightening torque 22 Nm (16 lbf ft)
