Fixed brake caliper, rear wheel, changing

To remove



1. Raise the car and remove the wheel.

2. Remove the brake pads.

3. Depress the brake pedal slightly, using a brake pedal clamp.

Remove fuse No. 1 for the brake lights.

4. Undo the brake line connection from the brake caliper. Plug the lines and brake caliper.


5. Remove the two brake caliper retaining bolts and lift away the brake caliper.


To fit



1. Fit the brake caliper, apply Loctite 242 to its two retaining bolts and tighten them, using a torque wrench.

Tightening torque 80 Nm (59 lbf ft)

2. Remove the plugs and connect the brake lines.

Tightening torque 16 Nm (12 lbf ft)

3. Fit the brake pads.

4. Lower the car slightly, remove the brake pedal clamp and put the fuse back in its holder.

5. Bleed the brake system .

6. Fit the rear wheels, see Wheels .

Tightening torques

aluminium wheel 110 Nm (81 lbf ft)

steel wheel 50 Nm +2x90°, max. 110 Nm (37 lbf ft +2x90°, max. 81 lbf ft)

7. Lower the car to the floor and depress the brake pedal to force out the brake pistons.

8. Check the brake fluid level and top up as necessary.
