Adjusting the handbrake cable

First, adjust the handbrake shoes, see

1.

Apply the handbrake 1 notches.
|
2.
|
Raise the car so that the rear wheels can be rotated freely.
|
3.
|
Tighten the adjusting nut on the handbrake lever, accessible through the hole in the front partition behind the mat in the centre console storage compartment, until the brake starts to engage.

4.
|
Release the handbrake and apply it again.
The wheels should be locked at the 2nd to 3rd notch.
|
5.
|
Lower the car to the floor.
