Indicator lamp TCS OFF
Indicator lamp TCS OFF |
If a fault occurs in the TC/ABS system, the control module grounds pin 20, whereby the TCS OFF indicator lamp comes on. The warning lamp also comes on when the system is disengaged manually, which can be done at speeds below 60 km/h (37.5 mph) by pressing the TCS button. The system can be engaged by pressing the TCS button at an optional speed, whereby the TCS indicator lamp will go out again.
The lamp lights up when the ignition is switched on. If no fault is detected it goes out after 3-5 seconds.
in the event of a system fault which affects the ABS function, pin 21 will also be grounded. This causes the warning lamps for ABS and brakes to light up as well as the central warning lamp.
Diagnostics
The 31-pin connector has a short-circuiting jumper that grounds pins 20 and 21 when the connector has been unplugged from the control module. This will turn on the ABS, brake fluid and central warning lamps together with the TCS OFF indicator. No diagnostic trouble code will be set if the warning lamp is faulty.
