Fault symptoms
Water leak on left-hand side of cabin.
Probable cause
The water leak may be due to a weld that could have burnt a hole by the reinforcement pate in the wheel housing.

Raise the car and remove the front left wheel.
|
2.
|
Remove the bolt securing the wing liner to the scuff plate, and the upper and rear plastic nuts.

3.
|
Press in the rear section of the wing liner so that is comes away from the edge of the wing. Fold the wing liner forward to reveal the reinforcement plate welds.

4.
|
Inspect the centre weld on the bottom of the reinforcement plate
|
5.
|
Seal the hole with Terostat 1K-PUR T 216.
|
6.
|
Fit the wing liner by pressing it onto the edge of the wing and fitting the nuts and the bolt.
|
8.
|
Remove the scuff plate, lift up the carpet and dry inside the car.
|
9.
|
Hose the window and roof of the car with water at normal pressure for roughly a minute.
|
10.
|
Make sure no water has leaked in.
|
11.
|
Dry the inside of the car with a fan/dehumidifier before refitting dismantled parts.
