Cars in stock must be rectified before delivery.
A personal communication must be sent to the owners of cars already delivered requesting them to get in touch with the nearest Saab garage as soon as possible to have the fault rectified.

The flange sealant has not been correctly applied to the flange above the number plate lighting. The sealant does not cover the flange but only the outer plate.

Check box A2 on the modification identity plate before proceeding. Continue as follows if the box is not marked.

Park the car indoors and open the bootlid.
|
2.
|
Remove the bootlid closing handle, the bootlid trim and the connectors from the light clusters in the bootlid.
|
3.
|
Unhook the lock arm and remove the lock and seal.
|
4.
|
Remove both light clusters from the bootlid.
|
5.
|
Remove the plastic cover complete with number plate lighting and opening handle.
|
6.
|
Apply cavity treatment liberally to the bootlid flange in the area between the emblem and the right-hand, outer attachment point of the plastic cover (cross section of area shown in illustration).

7.
|
Close the bootlid, wait a couple of minutes then wipe off any surplus sealant.
|
8.
|
Open the bootlid and fit the plastic cover complete with number plate lighting and opening handle.
|
9.
|
Fit both rear light clusters.
|
10.
|
Fit the lock and seal, and fit the lock arm.
|
11.
|
Plug in the connectors and fit the bootlid trim and closing handle.
|
12.
|
Close the bootlid and check that the lock and lights work.
|
Marking the modification identity plate
|
On completion of the necessary rectification, box A2 on the modification identity plate must be marked. If the work is carried out by the importer, mark the box with a "7". If done by the dealer, mark it with an "8".
