Coolant, changing
Coolant, changing |
Fill the system when the engine is cold but not above the MAX level mark. Warm up the engine to operating temperature (=thermostat opening), check the level of the coolant and top up as necessary.
Coolant system capacity:
- 7.4 litres (7.8 qts) (4-cyl. engine)
- 7.2 litres (7.6 qts) (V6 engine)
Important | ||
Screw the filler cap down hard or the system will not be pressurized, resulting in a lower boiling point and loss of coolant. |
||
Bleeding |
1. |
Start the car, A/C or ACC turned OFF, and run the engine at idling speed until the radiator fan starts (4-cyl.) or has started three times (6-cyl.).
|
2. |
If the car is equipped with a petrol-driven parking heater, bleed the system by removing the upper hose. If air is present in the system when the parking heater is started, it could be damaged. Start the heater and allow it to run for a while when the radiator fan has started.
|
Check the condition of the hoses.
