(Cylinder head removed)

Scrape off any carbon deposits and burrs at the top of the cylinders. Mark the pistons with the cylinder numbers.

Raise the car and drain the engine oil.
|
3.

Remove the oil sump.
|
4.
|
Remove the oil strainer and antislosh baffle. Wipe off dripping oil.
|
5.
|
Mark the position and remove the appropriate big-end bearing cap.
|
6.
|
Push the piston and connecting rod out of the cylinder bore. Fit the bearing shells and bearing cap loosely on the crankshaft. Remove the gudgeon pin circlip and drive out the gudgeon pin using a plastic mallet and drift.
