Background

The Saab 9-5 Aero 4-cyl. manual and V6 automatic are missing three bolts and washers that should be located in the oil sump as illustrated. Cars must be rectified due to the possibility of increased movement between the engine and the gearbox.

Parts required

Bolt with washer 79 78 299 (x3)

Diagnostic procedure


4 cyl: Fit the bolts as illustrated.

Tightening torque 47 Nm (35 lbf ft)


V6: Fit the bolts as illustrated.

Tightening torque 47 Nm (35 lbf ft)
