Ignition discharge module, replacement of spring

Unplug the 10-pin ignition discharge module connector.
|
4.
|
Turn the ignition discharge module upside down and remove the 8 screws.
|
5.
|
Lift off the black lower section of the ignition discharge module.
|
6.
|
To change the spring, carefully pry out the old one with a screwdriver.
|

|
Fit a new spring in place of the old one.
|
2.
|
Fit in reverse order.
Spray the connector with Kontakt 61 contact cleaner (part no. 30 21 763).
Coat the rubber seals with Krytox (part No. 30 19 312).
Tightening torques
Lower section of ignition discharge module 4 Nm (2.9 lbf ft)
Ignition discharge module retaining screws 11 Nm (8.1 lbf ft)
