Processor control of the transistor that grounds the circuit.

Control of control module output, electric circuit and actuator operation. Connect test spark plugs. When the output is active, a spark should be produced. Otherwise, use a test lamp to locate the faulty lead/component.

Ignition Coil Cyl 4

When the crankshaft is stationary. If an injector has been activated, the engine must be started and then switched off before activation will be allowed.

Processor control of the transistor that grounds the circuit.

Control of control module output, electric circuit and actuator operation. Connect test spark plugs. When the output is active, a spark should be produced. Otherwise, use a test lamp to locate the faulty lead/component.

Throttle Motor PWM Test (30s)

When the crankshaft is stationary, the control module input for pedal position sensor 1 is grounded and the input for pedal position sensor 2 is open (connect a jumper lead between pins 4 and 1 in the throttle body's connector).

The main relay must also supply control module pin 1 with current.

Each motor lead can be supplied with B+ or ground to change the polarity. The processor reverses the polarity of the motor leads alternately at 50% PWM.

Checking control module output and electrical circuitry. Connect the test lamp to pins 5 and 10 of the throttle body's connector. During the test the lamp should show a green and red light alternately.

Fuel Pump Flow Test (30s).

When crankshaft is stationary

The fuel pump is activated for 30 seconds. For reasons of safety, a button on the diagnostic tool must be held down throughout the test.

Checking that the flow rate is within the prescribed limits at high fuel adaptation values and that the pressure and the fuel pressure regulator's pressure response are OK at high or low fuel adaptation values.
