Reversing lights

Reversing lights

The reversing lights come on when reverse gear is engaged. For certain markets there are side reversing lights in the front flasher bulbs (119 FL and 119FR).

DICE detects the status (ON/OFF) of the reversing-light switch and outputs the information to the bus.

+54 voltage is fed to the reversing-light switch (31) from fuse 2.

When reverse gear is engaged on a manual gearbox, the reversing-light switch (31) closes and current is fed to the reversing lights.

When reverse gear is engaged on an automatic transmission, the reversing-light switch (31) in the gear selector (239) closes and current is fed to the reversing lights via the reversing-light relay (405).

The same voltage that feeds the reversing lights (32 HL and 32 HR) is also connected to DICE, pin 45. The information is used for the functioning of the rear-window wipers. The voltage is detected in the control module and reverse-gear information is sent on the bus to PMM (Power Mirror Memory).
