Rear bumper, 4D with towbar

Undo the screws in the wheel housing, 2 on each side.
|
3.
|
Remove the luggage compartment sill.
|
4.
|
Fold away the luggage compartment carpet and remove the seals. The old seals must be discarded and replaced by new ones.
|
5.
|
Remove the corner spacer panels under the rear light clusters.
|
6.
|
Undo the connector from the towbar and the bolts holding the towbar to the body.
|
7.
|
Remove the nuts securing the bumper and the bolts that have nuts on the outside.
|
8.
|
Together with an assistant, pull out the bumper from the edges of the wheel housings and lift the bumper backwards.

For cars equipped with Saab Parking Assistance (SPA):

Undo the connector in the bumper.
|
Important
|
Be careful to avoid damaging the paintwork.
|

Attach the connectors in the bumper.
|

|
Place the bumper in position and press it over the edge of the wheel housing. Make sure it is in the correct position along the guides in the rear wing.

2.
|
Tighten the nuts and the nuts and bolts by hand.
|
3.
|
Position the bumper correctly and tighten the screws in the edge of the wheel housing.
|
4.
|
Tighten the 6 retaining nuts.
Tightening torque: 40 Nm (30 lbf ft)
|
5.
|
Fit the bolts and nut plates that secure the towbar to the body.
Tightening torque: 40 Nm (30 lbf ft).
Screw together the connector.
|
6.
|
Fit the corner spacer panels.
Tightening torque: 5 Nm (3.7 lbf ft).
|
7.
|
Fit the new seals and fold down the luggage compartment carpet.
|
8.
|
Refit the scuff plate.
|
9.
|
Close the boot lid and check the fit.
