Ventilated front seat
Ventilated front seat |
Seating ventilation is available as an option on the electrically adjustable front seat in the Saab 9-5. The system consists of fans in the seat and backrest cushions which draw air and moisture through perforations in the seat and backrest.
The seat fan is mounted on the seat base. The backrest fan is mounted on the lumbar support in the backrest frame.
Ventilated front seats have perforated leather upholstery and foam cushions with punched holes. Air and moisture are drawn through passageways in the seat and backrest and down under the seat.
Description of operation |
The switch for the seat ventilation (615LH/615RH) is next to the seat heater control and has four positions: 0-1-2-3. In position 0, ventilation is turned off whereas position 3 gives the maximum fan speed.
When the switch is set to positions 1-2-3, power +54 is supplied from fuse 32 to the respective motor. The fan speed for positions 1-2 is controlled via a series resistance (636LH/636RH).
Button and controls lighting |
The switch for the ventilated front seat is lit by a bulb powered from DICE (pin 49, rheostat level). This voltage supplies the buttons and controls, ashtray light and cigarette lighter. For further information, see Group 3 DICE, Button illumination and lighting for controls.
