General on calibration


Many machines in the workshops have built-in measurement systems that are necessary for them to work as intended. In addition, several different measuring instruments are used when repairing cars. It is therefore important that machines and measuring instruments are calibrated following a fixed schedule so that work is performed accurately and safety is maintained.

Make sure that the manufacturer's calibration instructions are followed and that local laws are observed. Calibration is to be performed by a certified supplier or calibration institute.

In general, if the equipment does not fulfil accuracy requirements, it must be repaired or replaced. Poor equipment and tools generate poor results.
