Wheel alignment equipment

Wheel alignment equipment

During wheel measurement, the equipment shows the setting of all wheels. If adjustment is possible, first the rear wheels are adjusted and then the front wheels (so that they are aligned with the rear wheels).

Always replace worn components before adjustment so as to eliminate all worn components that could cause faults.

During measurement, the car should be unladen, without driver or passenger and with a full fuel tank. The surface should be flat and horizontal. The car's wheels should have the right tyre pressure.

Wheel alignment equipment requires regular calibration.

There are two methods to performed a 4-wheel alignment. Caster measurement with 20° steering angle and caster measurement with 7-14° steering angle. Both are reliable, but 20° steering angle is the most reliable alternative when the car's front end components are starting to become worn.

Correct wheel alignment gives the suspension, bumper, brakes and tyres have the right function. You get a safe, comfortable and fuel-efficient car when the components of this system function correctly. Depending on the size of the workshop and the customer base, you can choose to invest in:

1. A separate wheel alignment station

2. Smaller mechanical instruments

The alternative that is most financially beneficial is determined by the workshop. It is important not to disregard the technical properties of the equipment.

Saab has tested different pieces of equipment for 4-wheel alignment that fulfil the requirements for precision and accuracy.
