Drive belt, driving of auxiliary equipment


Make sure the marking on the moving part of the belt tensioner is located between the two markings on the fixed part.

Check the function and condition of the belt tensioner by pressing on the belt. It should return smoothly to its tensioned state.

Testing pressure on the drive belt: at least 170 N (40 lbf).

Check the condition of the drive belt.


The belt must be completely free from cracks and scale.

If cracks or other defects are present on either side of the belt, it must be changed.

If there is an oil leak on the auxiliary side of the engine, it is recommended that the drive belt is inspected and replaced if necessary.
