If the car is equipped with a radio other than a genuine Saab radio, check that the customer has the radio code before commencing work. |

|
Disconnect the negative battery cable. |

Undo:
|
|

the expansion tank
|
| • |
the main fuse box in engine bay
|
| • |
the power steering reservoir
|
| 2. |
Remove:
|
|
| • |
the battery
|
| • |
the RH wing liner
|
| • |
the grille
|
| • |
the LH side trim in the cabin
|
| 3. |
Mark carefully all the connectors
before disconnecting them from their components.
|
|
| 4. |
Disconnect the cables on the grounding points.
|
|
| 5. |
Unplug the connectors to the other wiring harnesses at the connector bracket under the LH A-pillar.
|
|
| 6. |
Carefully remove the wiring harness without damaging cable ties, etc., that are to be refitted.
|
|
| 7. |
Lay out the new wiring harness and main fuse boxes the same as the old ones and secure them in the same way. Make sure all grommets are sealing tight.
|
|
| 8. |
Plug in the connectors to their respective components (as marked on the old harness). If in doubt, refer to wiring diagrams/component lists for the respective system.
|
|
| 9. |
Plug in the connectors at the A-pillar.
Detach the connectors for: |
|
| 10. |
Connect the ground cables.
|
|
| 11. |
Replace:
|
|
| • |
the main fuse box in engine bay
|
| • |
the expansion tank
|
| • |
the grille
|
| • |
the power steering reservoir
|
| • |
the RH wing liner
|
| • |
the LH side trim in the cabin
|
| • |
the battery
|
| 12. |
Connect the battery cables. Set the clock and program the radio code where applicable.

|
Secure the wiring harness to prevent the risk of chafing and rattling. |
||
|
Check all rubber seals to minimize the risk of leakage. |
||

|
Spray all the connectors (except the oxygen sensor) with “Kontakt 61” to prevent copper rust from forming and apply Vaseline to all the grounding points. |
