Cars in stock must be remedied before delivery.

Cars already delivered must be rectified in connection with a scheduled visit to the garage for service or repairs.

Cars affected

Saab 9-5 4D M01 within VIN interval 13006754 - 13013027.

Background

Due to a process fault during manufacturing, the spot welds in the gutter on the right-hand side may be incorrectly located resulting in the side panel adjacent to the gutter being bent outward. This means that the magnetic sealing strip does not seal the joint satisfactorily

Procedure

1. Open the boot lid.

2. Check that the lower edge of the magnetic sealing strip makes good contact with the gutter. There must not be any gaps between the strip and the panel.

If there are gaps, continue with step 3.

3. Clean and wipe the right-hand gutter.

4. Remove the rubber strip on the right-hand side of the luggage compartment.

5. Detach the luggage compartment trim on the right-hand side and fold it aside.

6. Apply sealant to the surface between the magnetic sealing strip and the bodywork. Spread the sealant to give an even and homogeneous layer.

7. Allow the sealant to dry for five minutes then paint the area with touch-up paint.

8. Apply anti-corrosion agent from the inside to the joint between the gutter and side panel.

9. Fit the luggage compartment trim and the rubber strip. Close the boot lid.
