12 Volt current requirement for programming
It is essential that the battery is in good condition in order to carry out successful SPS programming. Before work is started the status of the battery must be checked. This is done using "Battery Analyser 311" Battery tester 86 12 533 (EU) or 86 12 525 (US). Follow the battery tester instructions. Remove the car's main fuses with the battery in order to eliminate "System noise" during the test. Fit the main fuses after the battery test has been carried out.If necessary charge the battery with low level current (less than 15 A) at the same time as SPS programming is carried out. Avoid rapid charging (above 20 A) as this can disrupt SPS programming.
