Securing the coolant hose
Cars in stock must be remedied before delivery.
Cars already delivered must be rectified in connection with a scheduled visit to the garage for service or repairs.
Saab 9-5 M02 with engine variant D308L within VIN interval 23000132 - 23020966.
A coolant hose lies too close to a mounting lug on the fan cowling. The mounting lug can wear holes in the hose, resulting in coolant leakage.
Symptom description
Coolant leakage
79 84 784 Cable tie
Inspect box C5 of the modification identity plate before proceeding. Continue as follows if the box has not been marked.
1.
Cut away and remove the cable tie from around the upper coolant hose.
2.
For easier access, press down on the upper mountings and tilt the radiator core back.
3.
Fit the new cable tie around the coolant hose. Do not tighten it too much as the hose expands during operation. Clip off the excess portion of the cable tie.
4.
Move the radiator core forward and fit the mountings in the radiator crossmember.
Marking the modification identity plate
Upon completion of the procedure on affected cars in accordance with MI210-2339, MI210-2340, MI260-2342, MI432-2345 and MI871-2346, mark box C5 of the modification identity plate. If the procedure was carried out by the importer, mark the box with a "7"; if it was carried out by the dealer, mark the box with an "8".
