Read the instructions below then start the fault diagnostic procedure.

Symptom: CHECK ENGINE. Misfiring. Engine turns off.

P0148

Fault symptoms

•	CHECK ENGINE.

•	Misfiring.

•	Engine turns off.

On-Board Diagnostics

Type of diagnosis:

-	Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and will not restart until next driving cycle.

Enable criteria:

-	Engine running.

-	DTCs P0191, P0192 or P0193 should not be detected.

-	Diagnostics active up to 6400 rpm

Fault criteria:

-	Diagnostics have detected a fuel leak of 90 mm 3 /crankshaft rotation.

Dependents:

-	P0182, P0183, P0253, P0254, P0255, P0259

System reaction to a fault:

-	Engine turns off.

OK report:

-	Diagnostics has run without detecting any leaks.

Diagnostic help

Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:

-	Read value: Fuel Pressure, Target Fuel Pressure.

Leak in fuel system from the pump via the fuel rail to the nozzles.

Check the lead from the tank tot he pump and the high pressure pipes.

Checking the wiring

Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Observe the multimeter, diagnostic tool or test lamp during the check.
