The overheating function for coolant temperature engages at a temperature of 120°C for more than 5 seconds.

Diagnostic help
The overheating function limits the amount of fuel until the correct temperature has been attained.In the event of a fault, EGR control and diagnosis for boost pressure monitoring are disengaged.
It is normal for overheating protection to engage during extreme driving conditions, such as outside temperature higher than 30°C (86°F) and driving with caravan on long, steep uphill slopes, such as when driving in the Alps. Check that the cooling system is operational and that there is nothing preventing air flow into and out of the engine bay. If the cooling system is fully functional, clear the DTC and inform the customer of the overheating protection function.
