Fault symptoms
Conditions
The following conditions apply for this DTC:
•
Diagnostics have detected a sufficiently large number of misfirings. A diagnosis is performed between 1100-2300 rpm and more than 8 mg fuel and at 2600-4300 and more than 15 mg fuel. Coolant temperature must be 60°C or higher.

Diagnostic help
Anything that causes misfiring can be the cause of the diagnostic trouble code, e.g. deviating combustion in one of the cylinders. This can be due to:
•
Leaking high-pressure fuel lines, (line between pump and injectors).
•
Damaged pistons, cylinders or valves.
•
Mechanical fault in engine.
•
Defective or clogged injectors.
•
Clogged or leaking fuel bridges (concerns tapered connection between the nozzles and fuel bridges).
•
Air in the fuel system.
•
Damaged sealing washers to injectors.
Important
Be particulary observant regardning cleanliness when working on the fuel system. Loss of function may occur due to very small particles. Prevent dirt and grime from entering the fuel system by cleaning the connections and plugging pipes and lines during disassembly. Use 82 92 948 Plugs, A/C system assembly. Keep components free from contaminants during storage.
