Conditions

The following conditions apply for this DTC:

The main relay has been closed too late. The delay function includes a check of the main relay circuit. A timer is started when the control module ceases to ground pin K28 to the main relay. If it takes longer than 3 seconds for the current to disappear from pin 5 after grounding of K28 has ceased, 3 times in succession, the diagnostic trouble code will be generated the next time the ignition is turned on.

Diagnostic help

PSG 16 checks whether the main relay has been closed within the desired time. Check whether the main relay works.

The diagnostic trouble code can be generated if the relay coil ground lead is shorted to ground or if the main relay circuit is shorted to B+.
