| Throttle pedal cable/adjustment of throttle pedal cable, 4-cyl. | 
| To remove | 
| 1. | Open the data link connector cover.   | |
| 2. | Undo the screws in the data link connector. | |
| 3. | Remove the screws and clip securing the lower panel with air duct. | |
| 4. | Unplug the connector for the floor lighting.   | |
| 5. | Lift out the lower panel. | |
| 6. | Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle pedal by sliding back the bush and removing it and the cable. | |
| 7. | Remove the engine cover by releasing the holders one at a time starting at the oil filler. Remove the cover above the throttle valve.   | |
| 8. | Withdraw the cable and its sheathing through the rubber bush in the bulkhead. | |
| 9. | Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle body.   | |
| 10. | Turn the lock clip for the throttle cable adjuster and then pull out the sheathing. | |
| To fit | 
 
    
    | Note | ||
| Spray the connector with Kontakt 61, part no. 30 04 520, before plugging in. | 
| 1. | Grease the rubber bush in the bulkhead with acid-free petroleum jelly (vaseline) and push the cable and its sheathing through the hole in the bush from the engine bay side. | |
| 2. | Pull the cable through the bulkhead and into the cabin. | |
| 3. | Hook the cable onto the throttle body in the engine bay. Fit the clip and secure it. | |
| 4. | Attach the wire to the accelerator pedal.

| 6. | Fit the connector to the floor lighting.   | |
| 7. | Fit the data link connector retaining screws and tighten them. | |
| 8. | Fit the lower panel. | |
| 9. | Close the data link connector cover. | |
