A personal communication must be sent to the owners of cars already delivered requesting them to get in touch with the nearest Saab garage as soon as possible to have the fault rectified.
Saab 9-5 RHD M02 with V6 diesel engine, and within chassis number range 23000132 - 23010266
On certain 9-5 models with V6 diesel, a rubber damper is fitted onto the accelerator pedal bracket to dampen sound. The rubber damper sometimes causes the accelerator pedal to return to the wrong position which can bring about increased idling speed.

Increased idling speed
Before proceeding, check box B2 of the modification identity plate. If the box is not marked, continue as follows.

Remove the lower panel that is fitted in front of the pedals (3 screws). Lower the cover so that the pedals are visible.

2.

Remove the front rubber damper from the accelerator pedal bracket.
|
3.
|
Refit the lower panel in front of the pedals.

Marking the modification identity plate
|
On completion of the necessary procedure, box B2 of the modification identity plate must be marked. If the work was carried out by the importer, mark the box with a "7". If carried out by a dealer, mark with an "8".
