P0106
Read the instructions below then
start the fault diagnostic procedure.
Symptom: CHECK ENGINE.
Engine speed drops slower than normal when accelerator pedal is released.
Misfiring can occur before trouble code is generated.

On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:
-
Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and will not restart until next driving cycle.
Enable criteria:
-
General conditions for this trouble code: Atmospheric pressure must exceed 72 kPa and the engine coolant and intake air temperatures must exceed -7°C.
-
Test 1: Crankshaft stationary, even after ignition OFF. Car stationary. The difference in pressure between the other two absolute pressure sensors in the system less than 10 kPa.
-
Test 2: Engine running. Engine speed above 1300 rpm. Engine load lower than 110 mg/c. Accelerator pedal fully released.
Fault criteria:
-
Test 1: Sensor value differs more than 15 kPa from atmosphere absolute pressure sensor.
-
Test 2: Sensor value exceeds 50 kPa.
Dependents:
System reaction to a fault:
-
Purging is blocked. Correction of air mass/combustion for fuel calculation is blocked. Charge air adaptation is blocked and reset.
OK report:
-
Test 1 and Test 2 performed once and fault criteria not fulfilled. Fault criteria for P0107 or P0108 not fulfilled.
Fault handling:

Fault handling III, other emission-related components and functions
for more information.)
Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns a fault in the sensor. A major vacuum leak can generate the trouble code.
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
•
Pressure sensor value, unit kPa. The value should correspond with the other two pressure sensors when the engine is stationary. Accepted difference is 10 kPa.
