Lift up the main fuse box.

Engage 4th gear.

Secure 4th gear in the gearbox with
87 92 335 Locking pin

Detach the linkage bracket on the engine mounting.

|
| 5. |
Detach the pinch-bolt clamp from the selector rod.
|
|
| 6. |
Detach the connection from the gearbox
|
|
| 7. |
Remove the linkage.

| Fitting in-car |
| 1. |
Fit the linkage to the gearbox and selector mechanism but do not tighten.
|
|
| 2. |
Screw the linkage bracket to the engine mounting. Apply
Thread locking adhesive, Loctite 270
to the bolts and tighten them.
Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 lbf ft) |
|
| 3. |
Engage 4th gear.
|
|
| 4. |
Secure 4th gear in the car.
|
|
| 5. |
Tighten the connection to the gearbox.
Tightening torque 22 Nm (16 lbf ft)
|

| 6. |
Tighten the pinch-bolt clamp to the selector rod.
|
|
| 7. |
Pull out the locking pin.
|
|
| 8. |
Insert the plastic plug.
|
|
| 9. |
Extract the locking pin from the gear lever housing.
|
|
| 10. |
Fit the main fuse box.
|
|
| 11. |
Check that all gears can be engaged and that the key can be removed in reverse.

|
